About BugCity.pl

Documenting the hidden world of urban insects across Poland's cities, one species at a time.

Our Mission

BugCity.pl was born from a simple observation: beneath the bustling streets of Polish cities lives an extraordinary world of insects, each species telling a unique story of adaptation and survival. Our mission is to document, celebrate, and share the remarkable diversity of urban arthropods that call Poland's cities home.

Through scientific research, community engagement, and accessible education, we aim to foster appreciation for these often-overlooked urban neighbors and highlight their crucial role in city ecosystems.

Our Methodology

Rigorous scientific approaches combined with community participation ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.

Systematic Surveys

Regular monitoring of 50+ urban sites across 6 major Polish cities using standardized protocols.

Photo Documentation

High-resolution macro photography for accurate species identification and behavior recording.

Scientific Verification

All species identifications verified by certified entomologists and taxonomic experts.

Citizen Science

Community contributions validated through expert review and cross-referencing.
